Cedar Street Grill Cooking Up the Specials

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – As Hudson Valley Restaurant Week continues, various restaurants throughout the villages such as Cedar Street Grill in Dobbs Ferry are serving up some new dishes to get people talking.

“For the chefs it really gets the stuff out there that they don’t usually do,” said Joe Kay, one of the restaurant’s owners and general managers.  “My brother is the chef here, he worked at a restaurant in White Plains and they did it.  We really felt like it was a great opportunity for people to come try the restaurant.”

The Cedar Street Grill opened in the summer of 2011 so this is its first opportunity to participate in Restaurant Week and spread the word about its specials.

“It’s significant,” Kay said.  “It’s just a lot of people coming out and trying the restaurant for the first time, which is really great.  Some people have already come back for a second time even though it just started.”

The weekends have been the most popular time for customers to stop by the restaurant, which is not surprisingly located at the center of Cedar Street in downtown Dobbs Ferry.

“On the weekends we’re doing specials right now just because it’s Restaurant Week, that’s when it really gets busier,” Kay said.

Whether you’re a regular who knows what they like or a newcomer who wants to try something different, Kay said there’s plenty to choose from during the event.

“Everything’s great, we give them a choice either this menu or the regular menu so in case they come with their kids or somebody doesn’t like something on the menu,” he said.  “It really keeps it open for everybody to try something that they’re in the mood for.”
