Greenburgh Mulitplex Supports Jimmy Fund To Fight Cancer

ELMSFORD, N.Y. -  Greenburgh area movie lovers can help fight cancer beginning Friday and  running through July 25 during the 64th annual Jimmy Fund/Variety Children’s Charities Theatre Collections program at the Greenburgh Multiplex. Contributions to the Jimmy Fund canisters found in participating theaters in several New England states as well as New York and New Jersey will help fund adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Ma.   “National Amusements and their staff have been invaluable partners with the Jimmy Fund over the years,” said Suzanne Fountain, director of the Jimmy Fund. “Their efforts have greatly helped Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund in our fight against adult and pediatric cancer.” Each summer since 1949, participating movie theaters have shown the Jimmy Fund movie “trailer” before the start of feature films. Afterward, volunteers and theater personnel invite patrons to contribute to the Jimmy Fund by passing around collection canisters. New this year, patrons can also contribute to the Jimmy Fund via credit card at the box office. For more information on the Theatre Collections program and to learn more how to volunteer go to the Jimmy's Fund website or call 617-582-7724.
