Two of the projects will create 1,674 new multifamily units. The third project will provide 132 independent living units.
First on the IDA’s agenda is the proposed White Plains Mall redevelopments, which would feature approximately 860 rental apartment units in multiple buildings with 10 percent marked as affordable.
The $600 million redevelopment of White Plains Mall will necessitate the demolishing of the 170,000-square-foot structure at 200 Hamilton Avenue. Other components include 84,000 square feet of specialty retail and restaurant space, 27,000 square feet of office space and a 956-space parking garage.
Next up is the Westchester Pavilion Mall $500 million redevelopment at 60 South Broadway, which has been delayed for plan revisions, though the building has been demolished.
Lennar Multifamily is already constructing a multifamily project at 131 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains worth more than $223 million. This project has increased the number of apartments to 814 units.
The third project being considered by the IDA is the senior living project called Waterstone, which will be built on Bloomingdale Road. The $120 development will involve a five-story independent living facility consisting of 132 units.
