Road Rage: Arrest Made In Hudson Valley After Man Fires Shots, Police Say A man who took out a high-powered rifle and fired shots at another driver during a road-rage incident in Northern Westchester has been apprehended, police announced. Officers responded to a stretch of Route 9 in Peekskill near the intersection of Welcher Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, where there was a report of a road-rage incident between two vehicles that resulted in shots being fired. Black Bear Spotted On Busy Roadway In Area Some Northern Westchester residents welcomed an unexpected visitor to the neighborhood when a black bear was spotted making the rounds in the area. The Peekskill Police Department issued an alert that there was a reported black bear sighting this week in the area of Welcher Avenue and Washington Street. While taking in the sights, the bear did not approach anyone or cause any disturbances. Three Dutchess Residents Charged With DWI In State Police Stops More than 30 motorists were busted by New York State Police troopers as law enforcement agencies in the Hudson Valley continue a nationwide crackdown on drunk, drugged and distracted driving. A total of 18 of those charged were from the region: Westchester County On Friday, Oct. 12, State Police from Somers arrested Edwin P. Loja Cabrera, 21, of Ossining, for DWI.
