Brewster Schools Superintendent Announces Departure A rocky school year in Brewster got a new surprise when Superintendent Valerie Henning-Piedmonte announced plans to leave the district at the end of the next school year.  The Brewster Board of Education accepted Henning-Piedmonte’s resignation effective July 31, 2019.  Henning-Piedmonte has been in education for 25 years.  She came to the Brewster district during the 2013-2014 year as assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction and assessment and was promoted to deputy superintendent. Brewster Schools Chief Used Unauthorized Vacation Days, Report Says Brewster Schools Superintendent Valerie Henning-Piedmonte cashed in five vacation days for $4,923 that records show had not been approved by the school board, according to this investigative report by lohud.com. Henning-Piedmonte cashed in five days on Aug.16, part of her request to cash in 20 days at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year.
