Severe Deterioration Closes Mill Lane Bridge In Pleasant Valley The Mill Lane Bridge in the Town of Pleasant Valley has been closed to all traffic, the Dutchess County Department of Public Works announced on Wednesday, March 27. This closure is the result of a New York State Department of Transportation inspection, which found “severe deterioration” of the bridge’s steel girders. The bridge, which is located toward the southern end of Mill Lane at the Parksville Road and Drake Road intersection, has a daily traffic count of around 140 vehicles. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 55-year-old Peter Cassels, who reported a move to Traver Road in Pleasant Valley. The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Cassels as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
