Fatal Crash: 38-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Crash In Region
One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in the region. The Greene County wreck happened at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, on State Route 23 in the town of Windham. New York State Police said 38-year-old Adam Kingsley, of Hunter, was driving a Toyota westbound on State Route 23 when he went off the roadway and struck a tree. Kingsley, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved and there were no other reports of injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

New update: ID Released For Woman Killed In 2-Vehicle Cornwall Crash One person was killed in a two-vehicle overnight crash in the Hudson Valley. It happened in Orange County around 12:15 a.m., Thursday, July 27 on I-87 in the town of Cornwall between Exit 17 (Newburgh) and Exit 16 (Harriman), said New York State Police Trooper Tara McCormick. A 38-year-old man is heading to prison after fatally striking a mother of three in the area and fleeing the scene. Stephen Grundel, 38, of Wallkill, was sentenced in Orange County Court to a term of one to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to leaving the scene of an incident without a report on Tuesday, June 25. A 38-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a felony of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left an area woman dead. State police have released a description of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of a 34-year-old woman over the weekend. At about 7 a.m. Sunday, March 31, Kiera L. Babcock of the Village of Otisville in Orange County was found dead on the side of the road on State Street in Otisville after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday night, March 30, according to state police. ID Released For Pedestrian Killed While Retrieving Cell Phone On I-95
A man who was struck and killed on I-95 while he retrieved his cell phone from the median has been identified. Hoa Ngo, 34, of Sacramento, Calif., was killed around 2:30 a.m. Monday on I-95 northbound just north of Exit 41 in Orange, said Sgt. Eric J Haglund with the Connecticut State Police. An initial investigation into the incident revealed that prior to the accident, Ngo was traveling with three adult friend in their pick-up truck towing a boat trailer when he accidentally dropped the phone out of an open window, Haglund said. Man Airlifted To Hospital Dies After Single-Car Dutchess Crash
A 44-year-old man who was airlifted to an area hospital following a single-vehicle crash has died. Christopher M. Baxter, of Staatsburg, died from his injuries once he arrived at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, according to Capt. John Watterson with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Watterson said the crash occurred around 8 a.m. Monday on All Angels Hill Road in Wappinger. An investigation into the crash is underway, he added.

Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle On Merritt Parkway
A 50-year-old pedestrian was killed Friday night after being hit by a vehicle on the Merritt Parkway, state police announced Saturday morning. Mark Benardi of New Haven was walking on the right shoulder on the southbound side in the area of Exit 61 in Hamden when he was struck by 58-year-old Robert O'Connor of the Town of Fairfield at around 11:20 p.m. Troopers found Benardi in the median and the vehicle in the right shoulder when they arrived at the scene.
