Lane Closures: I-684 Stretch To Be Affected
A series of upcoming single and double-lane closures on a busy highway in Northern Westchester will interrupt traffic for the majority of the day. The closures will affect Interstate 684 southbound in Bedford between Exit 6 (Route 35) and Exit 5 (Saw Mill River Parkway) on Thursday, June 1, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closures will last between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will facilitate bridge work.

Long Section Of Busy Roadway To Close For Week In Hudson Valley
A long section of a major US route in Northern Westchester will soon close for a little more than a week, leaving travelers with no option but to take a detour. Beginning on Thursday, March 16, the section of US Route 6/202 (Bear Mountain Bridge Road) between State Route 9D and US Route 9 in Cortlandt will close on weekdays in both directions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to the New York State Department of Transportation. Fatal Crash Causes Hours-Long Closure On Taconic Parkway In Dutchess
This story has been updated. A stretch of the Taconic State Parkway was closed throughout the morning commute following a fatal crash. The closure was southbound in Hopewell Junction between Route 29/Carpenter Road and Route 52. The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, but the lanes remained closed until around 10:30 a.m. during the accident investigation. Body Found On Road In Litchfield County ID'd As 17-Year-Old Boy
A gravely injured 17-year-old found sprawled across a Litchfield County roadway later died after being hospitalized, police said. Police closed off Route 254, also known as South Main Street, in Thomaston, after a motorist discovered the injured teen at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16 and contacted police. Tractor-Trailer Crash Knocks Out Power To Hundreds In Area
Hundreds were left without power after a tractor-trailer struck three utility poles and felled multiple power lines in Orange County, officials said. A spokesperson from Orange & Rockland Utilities said that shortly before 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, a truck driver on Long Meadow Road near Route 17A in Tuxedo took down the poles and a transformer, leaving approximately 600 area residents without power. Water Main Break Closes Major Roadway In Dutchess
A water main break has closed a major Beacon roadway for at least the next several hours, Beacon Police said. The break at 388 Fishkill Ave., has closed the road for a long stretch from Blackburn Avenue to Prospect Street, police said around 9:45 a.m. Thursday, March 28. Water department and transportation officials are on the scene working to fix the break, police said. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
