Buyer Emerges For 5 ShopRite Stores In Region
Shoppers feeling the void left by ShopRite’s recent closure of five stores in the region will be happy to hear that those shuttered locations won’t stay empty for long. Price Chopper/Market 32 has finalized the purchase of the leases, store equipment, and fixtures of the five former ShopRite stores to “further solidify its presence” in the region, the company announced Tuesday, Nov. 28. Current plans call for Market 32s to go up at the Niskayuna store in Schenectady County and at the North Greenbush store in Rensselaer County. Visitors to a local supermarket are being alerted that they may have been exposed to novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Residents of Putnam County and neighboring communities are being advised of possible COVID contamination at TOPS Friendly Markets, located on Route 6 in Carmel, by the Putnam County Department of Health. Carmel Man Faces Shoplifting Charge
A man from Carmel has been charged with shoplifting after an incident at a local supermarket. On Thursday, Jan. 24 around 5:15 p.m., police responded to Tops Friendly Markets in Putnam Plaza upon a report of a man taking items from the store. Police arrived and arrested 50-year-old Anthony Bova. He was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for processing. Bova was issued an appearance ticket for petit larceny.
