Pawling Resident Among 5 Charged During Memorial Day Weekend Detail In Putnam County Five people from the Hudson Valley and Connecticut ended their three-day Memorial Day weekends with drunk driving charges and a host of traffic tickets, police announced.  The arrests all happened during a weekend detail in Putnam County, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday, June 5.  The detail resulted in the arrests of the following people, according to sheriff's deputies: Litchfield County resident Nadine L. Man Nabbed With Fentanyl, Crack Cocaine In Hudson Valley, Authorities Say A man was arrested on narcotics charges during a routine traffic stop in the region. Northern Westchester resident William E. Felling, age 40, of Somers, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 2 in Putnam County on Route 6 in the town of Southeast. During the stop an investigation found Felling was in possession of a quantity of fentanyl and crack cocaine, said Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville. Felling was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was released on his own recognizance, pending a return court date on Thursday, Sept. 15.

Motorist Stopped On Route 6 Charged With DWI A driver stopped on the middle of Route 6 in Putnam County was allegedly intoxicated when he was busted by members of the Sheriff’s Office, officials said. Putnam County Sheriff Deputy Matthew Shelters was on patrol shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 when he spotted a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the road on Route 6 in Southeast, blocking the southbound lane of traffic. Further investigation determined that the driver, Perfecto Lopez-Garcia, age 39, was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and Shelters said that Lopez-Garcia appeared intoxicated when he was approached. …

Man Charged With DWI After Route 6 Two-Car Crash A Carmel man has been charged with DWI following his involvement in a two-car crash, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. Officers with the PCSD were dispatched via Putnam 911 to a report of a two-car personal injury crash on Route 6 in the area of Bridge Lane in the town of Southeast on Thursday, Oct. 31 around 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers allegedly observed Julian Chulo, the driver of one of the vehicles, sitting on the shoulder of the road. Police Dish Out 13 Tickets In Safety Detail On Route 6 Near Putnam/Fairfield County Border New York State Police troopers teamed with Connecticut State Police and the Danbury Police Department to dish out more than a dozen tickets during an “occupant safety checkpoint” detail in Putnam County near the Connecticut State line. A total of 13 tickets were handed out by police during the detail, which was conducted on Route 6 and Danbury Road in Southeast, near the state line, two of which were seatbelt or passenger restraint-related violations.
