Hudson Valley Gets $38M For ‘Environmentally Friendly’ Pedestrian, Biking Projects The Hudson Valley is set to receive more than $38 million in federal funding to help pay for new pedestrian and biking projects around the region. On Tuesday, March 9, Amazon announced its plans to expand its operation in Dutchess County at the 631,000-square-foot site on Route 52 in East Fishkill, which is expected to create more than 500 full-time jobs and hundreds of part-time jobs. Three Charged In East Fishkill Sobriety Checkpoint A joint police checkpoint conducted by several Dutchess law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of several area residents who were busted driving with drugs or while impaired over the weekend. Members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, East Fishkill Police Department and New York State Police troopers conducted the joint sobriety checkpoint, which led to six arrests, three of which were for impaired driving. The checkpoint was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 on Route 52 in East Fishkill. Police said that during the checkpoint, 1,790 vehicles drove through the area. …
