Two Killed After Jeep Crashes Off Road Into Ravine In Newtown Two occupants of a Jeep were killed after it crashed off the road and into a ravine overnight in Northern Fairfield County. The crash occurred on Route 34 (Berkshire Road) in the area of Jordan Hill Road in Newtown at about 2 a.m. Sunday, June 23, said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde of the Newtown Police Department. Police say that the older model Jeep Cherokee had driven off the westbound shoulder of Route 34 into a hundred foot, heavily wooded ravine, according to police. Area Man ID'd As Fatal Crash Victim Police have identified a 36-year-old Fairfield County man killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 34 in New Haven County on Tuesday morning. Christopher Etes of Sandy Hook was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Buckingham Road, according to the Derby Police. Etes, who was driving a Jeep when he crashed into a box truck, was the driver at fault in the incident, Derby Police said in a statement.
