Stop & Shop Customer In Hudson Valley Receives Counterfeit Bills From Self-Checkout Machine A customer using a self-checkout machine at a Westchester County grocery store received counterfeit bills as change, police say.  On Monday, Oct. 24 at around 4 p.m., North Castle Police received a call from a person who reported receiving two $10 bills from a Stop & Shop in North White Plains at 670 North Broadway, according to police.  The customer then completed a witness deposition, police said.  It is not known where the counterfeit bills came from.

Metro-North May Raise Parking Fees At Some Stations Parking may be getting a bit costlier for Metro-North riders. The MTA is reviewing a proposal to increase fees at 25 station parking facilities that are controlled by the railroad. It would impact riders east of the Hudson River, including the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines. Permit holders for 16-hour parking would pay an average of $42.75 annually, approximately 12 cents a day. Customers who use daily meters will pay an average of $14.17 more monthly, with the meters increasing by 50 to 75 cents for 16-hour parking. 10 Hospitalized With Carbon Monoxide Poisoning In Hudson Valley Nearly a dozen people were hospitalized on Wednesday morning when a generator running inside their North White Plains home caused carbon monoxide to build up, sickening residents in the home, police said. ID Released For Teen Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train A Valhalla teen has been identified as the young man struck and killed by a Metro-North train in Valhalla just north of Commerce Street, according to the MTA. Aaron Dannenbring, 19, was on the tracks around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by the northbound train, said MTA Spokeswoman Nancy Gamerman.
