44-Year-Old Dies In 2-Car Crash In Region
A man is dead following a Memorial Day car crash in the region. Emergency crews in Rensselaer County were called shortly after 8 p.m. Monday, May 29, with reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the village of Hoosick Falls, on State Route 22. An investigation by New York State Police determined that 44-year-old Michael Cameron, of Eagle Bridge, was driving his motorcycle northbound when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. One Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash On Busy Dutchess County Roadway
A man was killed during a two-vehicle crash when a pickup truck allegedly turned in front of a motorcycle in the area, according to authorities. Juan M. Villarreal, age 61, of Rhinebeck and New York City, was killed around 12:15 p.m., Thursday, May 20, during the crash on Route 9G at the intersection of Violet Hill Road in Rhinebeck, said Captain John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Massive $29.4M Recall Issued By Harley-Davidson Because Brakes May Not Work
Harley-Davidson is recalling more than 250,000 motorcycles that could cost the company upwards of $30 million after discovering a deficiency in its brakes that could cause them to fail. The voluntary recall includes more than two dozen bike models that were produced between 2008 and 2011 with anti-lock brakes. The international recall includes 251,000 motorcycles, with an estimated 175,000 of those sold domestically. It is expected to cost Harley-Davidson at least $29.4 million.
