Social Media Misinformation 'Escalated' Standoff During Domestic Incident, Putnam Sheriff Says Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley Jr. was critical of social media following a nearly seven-hour standoff in Carmel over the weekend when a man barricaded himself inside for hours. Members of the Carmel Police Department responded to Putnam Drive at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, where there was a report of a previous domestic incident involving 28-year-old Carmel resident Alexander Booth.
