Crashes Cause I-84, Saw Mill Parkway Delays
This story has been updated. There were delays on two of the major roadways in the area just as the evening commute got underway Friday. The left lane on I-84 was blocked westbound in Dutchess County for more than an hour at Lime Kiln Road (Exit 15) in Hopewell Junction. There were stop-and-go delays on the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway following a crash that initially blocked the right lane. The northbound incident occurred in Hawthorne at Route 9A/Saw Mill River Road (Exit 23) with residual delays after the lane reopened around 5 p.m. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Crash Snarls I-84 Traffic During Evening Commute
This story has been updated. A crash that initially took out the left lane caused gridlock on a stretch of I-84 during much of the Monday evening commute. The incident occurred on the eastbound side at Lime Kiln Road (Exit 15) in Hopewell Junction, with stop-and-go traffic backed up to Route 9 (Exit 13). Delays of up to 30 minutes were reported before the lane reopened.

Town Of Poughkeepsie Man Killed After Being Hit By Truck, Car ID'd
The Town of Poughkeepsie man who was killed after being struck by an empty dump truck and then a car on Lime Kiln Road late Thursday night has been identified. A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim, 44-year-old Rudolph Thompson of the Town of Poughkeepsie, was struck while in the southbound lane of Lime Kiln Road by a 2012 Peterbilt tractor hauling an empty dump trailer. The truck, which was traveling south, stopped immediately after the collision. After being hit by the tractor, Thompson was then struck a few moments later by a 2008 Ford Focus.
