Poughkeepsie Fire Department Responds To Two Fires In One Morning Poughkeepsie firefighters were on the run Thursday morning tackling two fires within hours of each other. The first fire took place around 6:16 a.m. at 333 Mansion St., when a pile of clothes on the second floor of the home that was supposed to be vacant and off-limit following a fire at the same location on Saturday, said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson. Arlington House Fire Displaces Five Five people were displaced from their home following a basement fire. The Arlington Fire District responded to 14 Gentry Bend Road for a reported basement fire around 10:43 p.m. Thursday, Arlington Chief Tory Gallante. The first fire department unit arrived on the scene within minutes five minutes of the initial dispatch and encountered a heavy smoke condition inside the single-family home, he added.
