Contractor Accused Of Scamming Thousands From Couple In Region A contractor from the region was charged with larceny for allegedly scamming a couple out of thousands for a roofing job he never performed. Sullivan County resident David Gizinski, age 37, of Liberty and the owner of Gizinski Construction, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 16 for the incident in November 2023. According to Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, Gizinski received $13,656.38 from a Grahamsville couple as a 50 percent down payment for a roofing job.  The victims could not contact Gizinski after he took their money and never started the work, Chabo…

Two Nabbed In Armed Home Invasion Robbery In Area, Police Say Two men have been arrested in connection with an alleged armed home invasion robbery. On Monday, Nov. 29, around 9:20 a.m., the Sullivan County 911 received a report of an assault that had just occurred on the grounds of the Hebrew Day School in Lake Kiamesha, said Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office. 30-Year-Old Woman Killed In Rollover Crash In Region A 30-year-old woman was killed in a rollover crash in the region.  Troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in Sullivan County on State Route 55 in the Town of Neversink at about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5, according to New York State Police. Pair Charged With DWI In I-84 Stops A pair of area residents were among four taken off the road by New York State troopers overnight for alleged impaired driving.
