22-Year-Old Driving Drunk Crashes Into Tree In Hudson Valley, Police Say A 22-year-old area man is in serious condition after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree while allegedly driving drunk. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22 in Saugerties on the Glasco Turnpike. Investigating officers established that Brandon G Norton of Shokan was driving a 1998 Honda Civic when he failed to negotiate a crest on the roadway due to excessive speed, said Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra. 23-Year-Old Accused Of Starting Fire That Damaged Area Home A 911 call about a fire burning at a Hudson Valley home ended with a 23-year-old man behind bars for arson. In Ulster County, emergency crews in Saugerties were called at around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, with reports of a fire burning in the backyard of a home near the Glasco Turnpike and Town Road. When police and firefighters arrived, they found an uncontrolled fire burning approximately 20 to 30 feet away from the side of a house, Saugerties Police said. Man Charged With DWI Following Single-Vehicle Crash, Police Say A 21-year-old man was arrested for alleged DWI after police responded to a single-vehicle crash. The crash took place in Ulster County on Friday, June 12, in Saugerties when the driver lost control of his vehicle, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said. According to Sinagra, Saugerties Police responded to the crash on Churchland Road just north of the Glasco Turnpike. Woman Behind Bars Following Fights, Punching Officer In Area, Police Say A 65-year-old Ulster County woman is behind bars after allegedly injuring another woman during a fight. Michelle Flanders, of Saugerties, was arrested at  7:32 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, after Saugerties Police responded to a fight between two women at 1016 Glasco Turnpike, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said. When officers arrived on the scene they found that Flanders was at the location in violation of an order of protection, the chief said.
