Roadwork To Affect Danbury Branch Train Service Roadwork is expected to impact service on the Danbury Branch for consecutive weekends as crews complete a road realignment project, the MTA announced. From Friday, July 19 through Sunday, July 21; and Friday, July 26 and Sunday, July 28, Connecticut State Department of Transportation crews will realign the intersection of Long Ridge Road and Simpaug Turnpike in Redding to correct a severe skew that has caused safety issues, primarily on the highway. Road Closure Alert Issued In Area An emergency declaration has been put out by the Connecticut State Department of Transportation for a busy roadway in Northern Fairfield County. The CTDOT announced that on beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, there will be a closure of Route 37 South slightly north - an estimated 150 to 200 feet - of the turn for Big Trail, near the Sherman-New Fairfield line for roadwork.
