State Police Conduct Underage Drinking Initiative At Area Businesses Nearly two dozen area businesses were found to be in compliance during a New York State Police underage drinking initiative. On Saturday, Jan. 16, New York State Police investigators in Somers conducted an investigation into 20 area businesses, each of which was found to be in compliance when checked by undercover teens. North Salem Police Chief Thomas Howley said the sightings began on Sunday, May 26, when a black bear was seen at the PQ Golf Club off Bloomer Road. Four Dutchess County Residents Charged With DWI In State Police Stops Nearly two dozen allegedly impaired motorists were removed from the road by New York State Police troopers for alleged drunk driving in the area. Local residents charged include: Dutchess County On Saturday, March 23, State Police troopers from Wappinger arrested Michael F. Docherty, 53, of Wappinger,, for DWI. He was traveling on Myers Corners Road in Wappinger, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
