On Tuesday, March 26, voters approved a $16,623,404 proposal that will address critical infrastructure issues, as well as a $10,925,736 proposition that will update the district’s current aging and out-of-compliance transportation facility. $25.5M Carmel School Bond Proposal Voted Down For the second time in less than a year, Carmel taxpayers defeated a school renovation bond plan, this time worth $25.5 million.Tuesday night's unofficial results were 1,334 votes against the bond issue and 1,192 Carmel residents for it. Carmel School Superintendent Andy Irvin has said the roofs at all five schools are more than 30 years old and need to be replaced. He also said there was a flood at the high school this summer. Carmel Residents To Vote On $25.5M Bond For School Renovations The Carmel Central School District proposes a $25.5 million bond issue for major renovations including new roofs. The vote is on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. School Superintendent Andy Irvin said the roofs at all five schools are more than 30 years old and need to be replaced.
