Man Struck, Killed While Walking On Tracks In Dutchess, Police Say

A 92-year-old man who was walking on the tracks is dead after being struck by a train in the area, state police said.

The incident occurred in Dutchess County on the Amtrak line between the Rhinecliff and Staatsburg stations around 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25.

A state police investigation revealed that An V. Tran of Poughkeepsie was struck and killed by a southbound Amtrak train.

Amtrak Police, Village of Rhinebeck Police, MTA Police, NYS Department of Transportation, Hillside Fire Department and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office were also on scene.
