Man Stopped For Speeding On Taconic Had Ecstasy, Suspended License

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway led to felony drug charges for a man who was busted with ecstasy.

State Police pulled over a 1991 Acura that was being operated by 31-year-old Chen Hankins of Peekskill, who was allegedly speeding on a stretch of the parkway in Yorktown. During the subsequent stop, police say that Hankins was in possession of MDMA and had his driving privileges previously revoked.

Hankins was arrested and charged with a felony count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. he was arraigned in Town of Yorktown Court by Judge Salvatore Lagonia and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond. He is due back in court later this year.
