Boy, 15, Fatally Shot Man Inside Home In Region, Police Say
A 15-year-old boy was arrested in Virginia in connection with the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man in upstate New York.
Albany Police found Quadair Hoffler suffering from a gunshot wound to the head in the city’s Pine Hills neighborhood, near Yates Street and South Lake Avenue, at around 1:40 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10.
Hoffler was taken to Albany Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, as Daily Voice reported.

Girl, 16, Caught With Loaded Gun During Traffic Stop In Region, Police Say
A routine traffic stop in the Capital Region ended with a 16-year-old girl in handcuffs on weapons charges.
Watervliet Police stopped a vehicle at around 5 p.m. Sunday, March 23. During the investigation, the officer determined that the 16-year-old girl driving did not have a valid driver’s license.
The officer then discovered a loaded, illegally-possessed 22 caliber handgun protruding from the waistband of a 16-year-old girl in the passenger’s seat, police said.
The passenger, a resident of Troy, was arrested on suspicion of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a felony. …

A man whose body was found in a wooded area in the Capital Region was the victim of a homicide, police confirmed.
Jamier Allen, 24, of Albany, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in the Second Avenue neighborhood, near Second Avenue and Boenau Street, at around 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, according to Albany Police.
Allen died from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body, police revealed Thursday afternoon, March 27.

An alleged drunk driver from Connecticut is facing charges after injuring two people in a car crash in upstate New York, police said.
Hartford County resident Gonzalo Paredes-Moscoso, 45, of New Britain, was arrested on assault and related charges Tuesday, March 25, stemming from a crash in Saratoga County.
Paredes-Moscoso had a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .18 percent or greater when he crashed his vehicle on State Route 146 near Fire Road in the town of Clifton Park on Tuesday, Feb. 4, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

A Dutchess County school community is mourning the loss of 16-year-old Arlington High School student Maya Ferrell, who is now presumed deceased, according to a letter sent to families by district officials.
