Workers Injured After Torch Sparks Flash Fire At Metro-North Yard Two workers were injured when the torch they lit malfunctioned and caused a flash fire at a Northern Westchester railroad yard.  The incident happened on Thursday, Nov. 7 just before 9:45 a.m. at Metro-North's Croton-Harmon Railroad Yard in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the village's fire department. The blaze happened when two workers lit a malfunctioning torch that caused a "brief but concussive flash fire," the department said.  The workers were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Emergency services in Schoharie County responded around 4:10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, to reports of a fire at Superior Storage Units on Main Street in the town of Richmondville.  After firefighters extinguished the blaze, they found the remains of the dead person inside one of the units.
