The Hudson Valley is mourning the loss of a cherished physician and community leader, Dr. Jeffrey S. Carr, who died peacefully after a brief illness.
Carr, a Northern Westchester resident who called Somers home, died on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the age of 85, according to his obituary.
Born on Sept. 30, 1938, in Brooklyn to Edward and Minnie Carr, Carr was a proud Brooklyn native and lifelong Mets fan. A Connecticut resident who grew up in Westchester County and worked in insurance, automobiles, and real estate over the course of his career has died at the age of 78.
Fairfield County resident Kurt Hothorn Jr., of Greenwich, died at Greenwich Hospital on Friday, Sept. 23, according to his obituary.
He was born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, his obituary said.
Hothorn graduated from Concordia Prep, and he went on to study at Valparaiso University in Indiana.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, his obituary said.

Vietnam Veteran From Westchester Ralph Giordano Dies At 70
Westchester native Ralph J. Giordano, 70, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in Melbourne, Florida.
Ralph was born in Mount Vernon. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and had been an Operating Engineer for the City of New York prior to his retirement.
Ralph was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Friends of Jupiter Beach. His family also remembers him as one who loved animals.
