Authorities are urging residents to take precautions following an attempted vehicle break-in in a Westchester driveway. Police issued an alert to residents after a man tried to enter a home and multiple parked vehicles in Westchester County. A man tried to open the back door of a home, located in Rye on Horton Street, at about 2:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, the Rye Police Department said. Police agencies in Westchester are urging village residents to lock the doors of their vehicles overnight following a rash of break-ins. Police said that some sticky-fingered suspects got into several unlocked cars earlier this week, prompting them to remind residents of the importance of locking up overnight and keeping valuables out of sight.
