Tragic Mianus Bridge Collapse Along I-95 Marks 35th Anniversary On this day in 1983, a part of the Mianus River Bridge collapsed.  Three people were killed and three others were seriously injured.  At about 1:30 a.m., on June 28, 1983, a 100-foot span of Interstate 95 in Greenwich collapsed into the Mianus River in one of the most infamous American bridge disasters of the 20th century.  A car and two tractor-trailers careened over the edge of I-95. Road Closures Announced For Yonkers St. Patrick's Day Parade Irish eyes will be smiling in Yonkers this weekend, even if it means roadway closures and restricted parking in the city for the 63rd annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. The Yonkers Police Department issued an alert on Friday morning warning residents and commuters that beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, McLean Avenue will be closed between Central Park Avenue and Bronx River Road.
