The incident happened at around 3:35 p.m. Friday, March 10 in Ulster County in the area of Winsupply on Morton Blvd in the Town of Ulster. That's when the Ulster County Sheriff's Office says a 911 caller reported the CSX train striking the pedestrian.  The pedestrian, a 39-year-old man from Kingston, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. Ulster County resident, Matthew A. Dequarto, age 23, of Rosendale, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 16, for the Monday, Tuesday, Feb. 13 assault, said Lt. Joseph Sciutto of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. Duo Accused Of Stealing Purses From Shopping Carts In Hudson Valley Police in the region are asking the public for help identifying a couple of thieves who have allegedly been snagging purses and wallets from shopping carts. The Town of Ulster Police Department is investigating several larcenies of purses and wallets from shopping carts in the Kings Mall over the last two weeks.  While one of the suspects distracts the female shopper the other one steals the purse, police said.
