Update: Westchester County Exec Latimer Officially Announces Bid For Congress Against Bowman
Westchester County Executive George Latimer has officially announced his intention to launch a Congressional Democratic primary challenge for New York's 16th District seat.
Latimer, age 70, announced his campaign in a video posted to social media on Wednesday morning, Dec. 6, in which he said he is "ready to deliver" for constituents within the 16th district.
The 16th district is made up of the southern part of Westchester, including the suburban cities of White Plains, Mount Vernon, Yonkers, New Rochelle, and Rye, and a small portion of the northern Bronx.

A Westchester-based real estate company will pay $105,000 in damages after denying housing to low-income renters and violating federal, state, and local laws in the process, officials announced.

A barrage of heavy rain has already caused much flooding in Westchester, resulting in closures on several busy parkways, evacuation warnings, and even state of emergency declarations.
The rain arrived in the region late Thursday night, Sept. 28, and is expected to continue into Friday evening, Sept. 29, bringing as much as three to five inches of rain and flash flooding along with it.

Police Nab Violent Westchester Kidnapper Who Fled, Cops Say
Police in Fairfield County nabbed a violent kidnapper who fled from Westchester County after committing the alleged crime.
The incident took place in Greenwich early Thursday, Sept. 21.
According to Lt. Patrick Smyth, of the Greenwich Police, the department was notified by authorities in Westchester that police pursued a suspected wanted in a kidnapping and assault with a gun in Rye and had crossed state lines into the Town of Greenwich.
The suspect, identified as Daniel Patrick Twomey, age 39, of Lodi, New Jersey, was believed to be armed and dangerous, Smyth said.
