Road Closure Alert: Route 119 In Westchester To Be Affected Those who drive on Route 119 in Westchester should look out for an upcoming closure that will interrupt traffic on the roadway.  Route 119 in Elmsford will close in both directions between Vreeland Avenue and Undercliff Avenue on Monday, Aug. 21, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.  The closure will last from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will allow for bridge rehabilitation work.  Motorists should use the posted detour, officials said.

Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In Westchester A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle on a busy Westchester roadway has died. The incident took place around 12:05 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24, at Route 119 (Tarrytown Road) and Aqueduct Road, said Greenburgh Police Lt. Kobie Powell. When officers arrived on the scene they found the man in the roadway.  He was transported by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center where he died from his injuries, Powell said.  The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of his family, he added.
