Mother Indicted In Connection To Death Of 1-Year-Old Son In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley mother has been indicted for manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide following the death of her 1-year-old son died after becoming stuck between a bed and a wall. Rockland County resident Marie Dorleus, age 36, of Spring Valley, was indicted on Monday, June 28 for the death which took place on Saturday, June 19, while the toddler was left home alone with two other children ranging in age from one to 6-years-old for several hours, said Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh. Teen Found Lying In Roadway Dead From Multiple Gunshots In Area, Police Say
An 18-year-old teen was found shot dead lying in a Hudson Valley roadway. The shooting took place around 9:50 p.m., Monday, May 31, in Rockland County. A Spring Valley Police officer was on patrol on Crispus Attucks Road and heard multiple gunshots in the area, Detective Matthew Galli said. Responding officers found a male lying in the roadway on Rose Avenue where he was pronounced dead, Galli said. The teen suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Officials investigating a fatal blaze that took the life of a Rockland County firefighter as well as a resident of an assisted living center said the investigation into the cause could take weeks. One of two victims stabbed after a large fight broke out at an area restaurant has died from injuries suffered in the incident. The fight began in Rockland County at Oiso Restaurant, located on 587 Route 303 in Blauvelt, at around 10;50 p.m. on Saturday, March 6. A corrections officer was injured after an alleged violent attack by an inmate who refused to enter his cell in the Hudson Valley. Israel Simon Gourion, age 31, of Wesley Hills, was arrested at around 10:15 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City, said Chief of Patrol William Barbera with the Rockland County Sheriff's Office.
