Three Stranded In Raft On Long Island Sound Rescued Three men who became stranded in a six-foot inflatable raft in the Long Island Sound have been rescued. Suffolk County Police were notified by the Coast Guard at approximately 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19 of an inflatable raft with three male occupants that were unable to make it back to shore.  The three were fishing in the Long Island Sound, near Crane Neck Road in Setauket, when they were pulled approximately two miles offshore, Suffolk County Police said. Members of the Bedford Police Department received a report at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 from area resident Leroy Junker, who said he was lost on the trails of the Westmoreland Sanctuary. Westchester 22-Year-Old Rescued After Falling From Cliff While Hiking A 22-year-old Westchester man was rescued after falling more than 20 feet off a cliff while hiking at Nyack Beach State Park. The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when the Tarrytown man went off a trail, fell and was knocked unconscious, said Randy Simon, spokesman for the state Parks Services.
