NY Woman Cleans Out Bank Account To Fraudster Posing As Federal Agent, Police Say
A months-long investigation has led to the arrest of a man who authorities say impersonated a federal agent and used fear and intimidation to convince a Long Island victim to hand over money.
On Friday, Oct. 25, the suspect, Om Parkash, age 31, of Queens, was charged with second-degree grand larceny (a Class C felony).
In late July of 2023, Parkash contacted the victim in Sag Harbor stating she was involved in a fraud scheme involving large amounts of money, according to New York State Police.

Saltaire Oyster Bar and Kitchen, located in Port Chester at 55 Abendroth Ave., will open for the last time on Sunday, July 14, the owners announced on social media on Friday, July 5.

$185M Scheme: NY Trio Nabbed For Defrauding 1,400 Investors, Feds Say
Three New York men have been charged in connection with a $185 million fraud scheme involving over a thousand investors, federal authorities announced.
The three are Long Island resident Mario Gogliormella, age 47, of Manhasset; and New York City residents Steven Lacaj, age 27, of Manhattan, and Karim Ibrahim, age 34, of Queens, also known as “Chris Hayes."

Three men face charges after burglarizing the Northern Westchester home of an Asian business owner, including one suspect accused of a hate crime, officials announced.
The trio, who all live in Queens, were indicted in connection with a September 2023 burglary at an Ossining residence, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday, April 10.

Construction Crook: Harrison Man Took Payment For Jobs He Didn't Finish, Police Say
A Hudson Valey man has been arrested on Long Island after he allegedly ran a construction company scam, taking customer’s money and leaving them high and dry, police said.
Westchester County resident Robert Stewart, age 39, of Harrison, was arrested in connection with his alleged schemes, Nassau County Police announced Thursday, Jan. 11.
According to police, Stewart, advertised himself as “Nxt Gen Construction” and took on construction jobs for at least two customers in Great Neck.
