A storm with heavy wind gusts moving through the region has left thousands without power in Westchester County.
Around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, Con Edison reported 4,122 customers having outages across the county.
Communities with the largest amount of customers left in the dark include Mamaroneck and Harrison (970), Yonkers (727), North Castle (297), and Mount Kisco (189).

A single-engine airplane that departed from Westchester County Airport crashed into a transmission tower in Maryland, causing a massive power outage and taking hours for rescuers to reach the two victims inside the plane.
The Mooney M20J, owned by MFC Corporation of Washington, DC, left Westchester County Airport in White Plains, late in the afternoon on Sunday, Nov. 27, and crashed into the wires near Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg, Maryland, around 5:40 p.m., said Rick Breitenfeldt of the Federal Aviation Administration.

Potent Storm Knocks Out Power To Tens Of Thousands In Parts Of Hudson Valley
Thousands of customers in parts of the Hudson Valley lost power after a powerful storm moved through the region.
More than 21,000 customers were left in the dark when the potent storm brought strong wind gusts and heavy rain to central and northern Ulster County just after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, according to Central Hudson.
Central Hudson said most of the outages were located in Kingston, Marbletown, Hurley, Esopus, and Ulster.
As of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, about 10,000 customers remained without service, Central Hudson said.

Here's How Many Are Still Without Power In Hudson Valley County Hit Hardest By Storm
Four days after a wintry storm rolled through the region, hundreds in the Hudson Valley are still without power.
In Ulster County, the area hit hardest by the storm, more than 1,900 Central Hudson customers were still reporting outages late Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, while there were 54 in Dutchess also left in the dark, according to the utility company.

New Test With Sirens Sounding At Full Volume Scheduled For Indian Point

Despite being closed down, there will be a test of the Indian Point Energy Center emergency notification sirens during a test of the system in Buchanan in Westchester this week.

The test will happen at approximately 10:30 a.m.. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, with sirens being sounded at full volume, which is expected to be heard in parts of Westchester, Rockland, Orange, and Putnam counties.

More than 13,000 residents in the Hudson Valley remained without power following the fallout of Tropical Depression Ida, which made its way through the region more than 24 hours ago.
As of 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, Con Edison was still reporting 411 outages, impacting 12,914 of its 360,045 Westchester customers, with “more work required,” as they continue making repairs.
