Woman Airlifted To Westchester Medical Center After Multi-Vehicle Crash
Police are investigating a serious three-vehicle crash including two tractor-trailers and a vehicle that seriously injured a womani n the Hudson Valley. The collision took place in Orange County on I-84 around 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24 in Montgomery. A preliminary investigation revealed that a tractor-trailer struck the rear of a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 30-year-old Orange County resident from the town of Monroe, pushing that vehicle into the rear of another tractor-trailer, state police said. A State Police trooper rescued a man whose car had been buried in the snow for 10 hours. The incident took place on Thursday, Dec. 17, when Sergeant Jason Cawley contacted Tioga County 911 to see if any emergency calls were pending due to the storm, said the New York State Police. Cawley was told they had received a number of 911 calls from a man who had run off the road and needed assistance, but law enforcement in the area had not located the driver. Hunters in a Hudson Valley town ranked among the best in the state during a busy deer hunting season. During the 2018-2019 deer hunting season, an estimated 227,787 white-tailed deer were killed, according to new numbers released by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, marking a 12 percent increase over the previous year. The estimated state deer take included 114,402 antler-less deer and 113,385 antlered bucks.
