Man On Run After Fleeing From Police During Traffic Stop In Area
A man wanted for allegedly tampering with evidence while fleeing from New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley during a traffic stop late last year is wanted in Orange County. An alert was issued by New York State Police Troop F in Montgomery as they attempt to locate Carlos Santiago Jr., who was arrested on Oct. 18 last year following a traffic stop in Newburgh. It is alleged that Santiago, age 47, the driver of the vehicle, fled on foot during the traffic stop in Newburgh and was caught shortly thereafter. Tornado touchdowns were confirmed in both the Hudson Valley and Connecticut during severe storm activity in the region on Thursday, Aug. 27. The National Weather Service made the determinations late Friday night, Aug. 28 after surveying damage during the day. Hudson Valley Tornado The twister in the Hudson Valley happened just after 6:15 p.m. Thursday in Orange County in Montgomery in the area of Old Nealytown Road, according to the weather service. Amazon To Open Operations Facility In Hudson Valley, Creating Hundreds Of Jobs
Hundreds of jobs are coming to the Hudson Valley as Amazon prepares for its latest venture in New York. This week, Amazon announced that it plans to launch a state-of-the-art operations facility in Orange County in Montgomery in time for the 2021 holiday season, generating more than 800 full-time jobs. The fulfillment center, which will span more than 1,000,000-square-feet near the intersection of Route 17K and Route 747 has been in the works for more than a year. Hudson Valley residents may recognize some set locations in a newly debuting Amazon Prime psychological thriller that was filmed in the region. Walden native Brian DiLorenzo, first-time director, and writer of “Myth,” a film released on Amazon Prime last week, highlights several spots in Orange, Putnam and Ulster counties which were filmed years ago, including several restaurants and homes in the area. 19: Outbreaks Lead To Temporary Closures Of Two Area Daycare Centers
Two Hudson Valley daycare centers that have remained open during the COVID-19 pandemic have seen outbreaks that led to temporary closures of their facilities. Both centers are located in Orange County. Heather’s Child’s Place in Montgomery and Pattycake Playhouse Early Childhood Learning Center in Newburgh temporarily closed due to the outbreaks, which were mild in nature, to allow for precautionary deep cleaning and sanitizing. Westchester Residents Charged With Impaired Driving In State Police Stops
More than a dozen area residents were among the 18 charged by New York State Police troopers for alleged impaired driving in the Hudson Valley. Local residents charged were: Westchester County On Saturday, June 27, State Police troopers from Cortlandt arrested Jose R. Becerra Rey, 32, of Peekskill, for DWI with a prior conviction within ten years, a felony. State Police Issue Alert For Wanted Area Man
An alert has been issued for a man wanted by New York State Police after being busted with a reportedly stolen car on I-87 in the Hudson Valley when he ran out of gas and his vehicle was towed. Simon O’Rourke is wanted by New York State Police investigators following his arrest for third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. A 32-year-old woman is wanted by New York State Police in the Hudson Valley after being busted with heroin and cocaine during a traffic stop, investigators said. Ivelisse Dickens is wanted by New York State Police in Montgomery and the Orange County Court following her arrest for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. A Hudson Valley man is wanted after allegedly damaging multiple vehicles when he attempted to illegally retrieve his car from a New York State Police impound lot. Anthony Colella, 33, is wanted by New York State Police investigators in Montgomery for third-degree criminal mischief after damaging vehicles at an impound lot in Orange County after his vehicle was towed.
