Covid-19: NY Will Ramp Up Testing For Frontline Workers, Allow Pharmacies To Conduct Tests New York State is expanding testing for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) to include more frontline workers as a result of rapidly increasing diagnostic testing capacity.  The expanded criteria will now allow all first responders, healthcare workers and essential employees to be tested for COVID-19 even if they aren't symptomatic, Gov. Westchester Man Chased Down, Beaten To Death After Alleged Attempted Break-In A Westchester resident was beaten to death with a metal pipe after allegedly attempting to break into a home.  Harold Bates, 29, of Mount Vernon, was killed around 11:53 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, after being hit with a metal pipe, said the New York City Police. Police found Bates after responding to a call of a burglary in progress on East 223 Street in the 47 Precinct, said the NYPD. Scarsdale Dentist Found Dead Inside Running Car A Westchester dentist once affiliated with the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx was found dead inside a running car in the Bronx, according to the NYPD. NYPD officials said they received a report of Dr. Jeremy Wertman, 38, of Scarsdale, sitting in a running car in a parking garage at 2690 E. 188th St. in Fordham Heights about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday. Police sources say Wertman had an IV tube connected to his foot with a bag filled with propofol, according to the New York Post.
