Man Arrested For Random Violent Assaults In Westchester, Police Say A 34-year-old man is in police custody after allegedly randomly attacking a woman in Westchester and possibly assaulting a second person, police said. Offices from the New Rochelle Police Department responded to a Locust Avenue home shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, where there was a report from a 53-year-old woman who was allegedly assaulted. Driver Charged With DWI After Hitting Bicyclist In Westchester, Police Say A bicyclist was hospitalized after being struck by an allegedly drunk driver in Westchester. The bicyclist was struck shortly after midnight on Sunday, July 7 in New Rochelle near the intersection of Pelham Road and Locust Avenue, police said. Both he and the driver were allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash. The driver - whose name has not been released - was charged with driving while intoxicated and vehicular assault.
