A woman is facing charges after she allegedly attempted to steal more than $200 worth of merchandise from a Macy’s retail store, police say. Yorktown Police responded to Macy’s at Jefferson Valley Mall (700 Lee Boulevard) on Monday, March 18 around 6 p.m. on the report of a shoplifter in custody. A 50-year-old alleged shoplifter was arrested after being accused of stealing $720 in merchandise at Macy’s at the Jefferson Valley Mall. Officers from the Yorktown Police Department responded to the mall shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, where there was a report of a shoplifting incident in Macy’s, with a suspect in custody. A woman is facing larceny charges after police say she tried to steal a coat from a Macy’s store worth $220. A woman from Carmel has been accused of stealing approximately $310 worth of merchandise from the Macy’s retail store in Yorktown, police say. Yorktown Police responded to the Macy’s store located in Jefferson Valley Mall on Sunday, Feb. 24 around 5:30 p.m. on the report of a subject being detained for an alleged larceny. Further investigation revealed that 59-year-old Anna Woloszyn of Carmel allegedly stole merchandise totaling $310.58, police say. Fashion Retailer Charlotte Russe To Close Stores In Westchester, Rockland
Another traditional brick-and-mortar retailer will soon be shuttering its doors in the Hudson Valley. Charlotte Russe Holding Corp., which operates Charlotte Russe, a fashion brand for females filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection over the weekend, impacted local stores. Macy's fans will soon have one less store to shop at when one of its locations in the area closes its doors early next year. Employee Caught Stealing From Cash Register At Macy's
A 56-year-old Macy's employee was nabbed for allegedly ripping off money from the cash register. Desmond Mighty of Cortlandt Manor was arrested Thursday, Oct. 4, after Yorktown Police received a call from Macy's staff at the Jefferson Valley Mall, reporting an employee was being held for a larceny complaint, said the Yorktown Police. A police canine helped break-up an alleged heroin deal outside the Jefferson Valley Mall. An officer from the Yorktown Police Department who was conducting a business check of the mall at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Thursday night reported that he saw “suspicious drug activity” by several people standing near a parked car. A teenager has been charged with stealing hundreds of dollars from her employer at the Jefferson Valley Mall, police said. Shortly after 6:45 p.m. on Monday, May 7, investigators from the Yorktown Police Department received a call from Macy’s with a report of an employee who had been detained for a larceny complaint.
