Firefighters Arrive Just In Time To Deliver Baby Girl In Westchester Firefighters delivered a special Father’s Day present in Westchester. Literally. Crews from the Yonkers FD's Engine 308 responded to a maternity call at a Warburton Avenue apartment shortly after 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 16. According to Yonkers Deputy Chief Daniel Flynn, crews got to the apartment within minutes, and at approximately 7:27 p.m., the crew of Lt. Thomas Hewitt and firefighters Robert Doolity, Troy Philbert, and Anthony Perez assisted the mother in successfully delivering a baby girl. Apartment Building Evacuated In Yonkers When Retaining Wall Collapses A building had to be evacuated on Wednesday night when a retaining wall supporting a concrete parking slab collapsed. First responders were dispatched to a Landscape Avenue building in Yonkers shortly before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, police said, when the concrete collapsed on a hill above the building. The wall collapsed on Landscape Avenue onto Bruce Avenue, though no injuries were reported. One Injured In Overturned SUV Crash In Westchester One person was injured after losing control of his SUV and overturning the vehicle.The incident took place just before noon Tuesday at the corner of Yonkers Avenue and Kimball Avenue, in Yonkers, trapping the driver, said Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos. Politopoulos said the male driver may have suffered a medical event of some kind before the crash. Two Extricated, One Seriously Injured In Sprain Parkway Crash A large team of first responders were able to extricate two people following a serious crash on the Sprain Brook Parkway. The crash, which occurred around 3:41 p.m. Wednesday on the Sprain near Jackson Avenue and the Greenburgh/Yonkers border, left two people trapped, with one seriously injured, said the New York State Police.
