Dairy products linked to deaths and serious illness — sold nationwide at many major retailers — are being recalled, the Center for Disease Control, the US Department of Agriculture, and the Food And Drug Administration announced in multiple releases over the first week of February. Dole Fresh Vegetables is recalling a popular salad kit that was sold with potentially deadly, non-declared allergens. The recall is due to possible undeclared allergens - peanut, wheat, soy and tree nuts - in H-E-B-branded Tuscan Herb Salad Kit, which was manufactured by Dole for H-E-B. According to the FDA, the incorrect master pack (kit with dressing and other toppings) was unintentionally used during the production of the salad. Trader Joe’s Ranked No. 1 In Grocery Retailer Index
In the world of grocery and retail trends, Trader Joe’s has ranked first in customer data science company Dunnhumby’s second annual Retailer Preference Index (RPI). The RPI examined the 56 largest retail chains in the U.S. grocery market, worth $700 billion, to determine which chains have the best financial performance and “consumer emotional sentiment.” Trader Joe’s made the number one spot for the second consecutive year.
