Fire Breaks Out At Home In Northern Westchester A home was damaged by a gas grill fire in Northern Westchester. The blaze broke out around 7:51 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, on Hayes Drive in Yorktown Heights. When firefighters arrived on the scene they found a grill on fire next to a structure, the Yorktown Volunteer Fire Department said. A neighbor who is an off-duty firefighter was able to knock down the main body of fire utilizing a dry chemical fire extinguisher and pull the grill away from the structure prior to the fire department's arrival. Three Firefighters Injured After Battling Blaze At Westchester Home Three firefighters were injured battling a blaze in a Westchester home filled with clutter and junk. The fire took place around 3:56 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at a single-family home located on the 100 block of Scott Avenue in Yonkers, said Deputy Chief Joseph Citrone. The blaze broke around 10:58 p.m. Tuesday in a cigar and vape store at 583 Central Park Ave., said Yonkers Fire Department Deputy Chief Daniel P. Flynn.
