Paw-some: Dog On The Loose Sniffs Out Tuckahoe Gas Leak A dog on the loose in Westchester showed why the animal is “man’s best friend.” The Tuckahoe Police Department received a call at approximately 3:45 on Wednesday, Feb. 6, of a loose, barking dog on Fairview Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and were able to return the dog, Sadie, to her home, when they noticed a rear sliding glass door was open and the fence was broken. Police said that initially, it appeared Sadie was simply being fussy; however, as officers were walking along the perimeter of the house, they smelled gas coming from an open basement window.
