A 21-year-old man jumped midspan from the new Tappan Zee Bridge and was rescued from the water. The incident occurred on the Westchester/Rockland County border around 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13. According to the Tarrytown Fire Department, the Marine 5 crew responded within minutes, equipped with rescue swimmers onboard. Driver Injured In 2-Car Crash In Front Of Historic Manor In Westchester A two-car crash in front of a historic Northern Westchester manor-turned-museum caused injuries, firefighters said.  The incident happened in Croton-on-Hudson on Saturday, Sept. 7 at around 7:20 p.m., when two vehicles collided in front of Van Cortlandt Manor on South Riverside Avenue, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews dealt with a fluid spill from one of the cars while EMS treated a driver injured in the crash.  Both vehicles were later towed away, the department said. The cause of the crash was not released.

Vehicle Rolls Over In Crash On Busy Main Road In Westchester Crews had to clean debris from a busy Westchester roadway following a two-vehicle crash that left one car flipped on its side.  The crash happened on Tuesday, Aug. 20 just before 7 p.m., when two cars collided at the intersection of Main Street and South Broadway (Route 9) in Irvington, the Irvington Volunteer Fire Department said on Wednesday, Aug. 21. The drivers were able to get themselves out of the vehicles and were later evaluated by EMS crews.  After around 45 minutes, all of the debris from the crash was cleaned from the roadway, the department said.

2 Hospitalized After Being Rescued From Overturned Car On Parkway On Westchester Two people were rescued from an overturned vehicle and hospitalized following a crash on a busy parkway in Westchester.  The incident happened on Tuesday, May 21 just after 10 p.m., when a crash occurred on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Purchase, according to the Purchase Fire Department. Arriving first responders found two occupants trapped inside an overturned vehicle and successfully extricated them. They were then taken to a local hospital by EMS.  The department did not detail more information about the cause of the crash.

Woman Hospitalized After Falling On Tracks At Westchester Train Station A woman was taken to a hospital after she fell on the tracks at a Northern Westchester train station, causing brief Metro-North service delays.  The incident happened on Tuesday, Oct. 24 around 8:30 p.m., when a woman accidentally fell on tracks at the Bedford Hills train station, according to an MTA spokesperson.  The woman was later assisted and treated by EMS personnel at the scene. She was later taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. The incident caused temporary delays of up to 25 minutes for Metro-North trains, officials added.

Police: Five Found Unconscious On Westchester Lawn From Drinking Too Much Five people in their early 20s were hospitalized and treated by EMS after being found unconscious on the lawn of a residence in Northern Westchester. The incident took place around 8:18 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, when New York State Police responded to a residence in Lincolndale, a hamlet of Somers, said Trooper AJ Hicks. When state police arrived, all five were passed out on the lawn of the residence, according to Hicks.  The group had apparently consumed too much alcohol, Hicks said. All are expected to survive, he said.

Westchester Man Found Dead In Front Of Citi Field A Westchester County man was found dead lying in a puddle of water in front of Citi Field in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in New York City. Jywan Stovall, age 40, of Elmsford, was spotted lying on the ground just after 5 p.m. Monday, March 1 at 38th Avenue and Seaver Way, said the NYPD.  When found, Stovall was unconscious and unresponsive, partially submerged in water, and with no apparent signs of trauma, NYPD said.  EMS responded to the location and pronounced Stovall dead at the scene.  The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation remains…

21-Year-Old Dead After Apparent Accidental Drowning In Westchester A 21-year-old man died after what authorities say appears to be an accidental drowning. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was found around 7:15 p.m. Friday, June 12 in Westchester near Rye Playland and the Edith Read Sanctuary. EMS personnel performed CPR on the man at the scene. He was pronounced dead at Greenwich Hospital. Signs posted in the area say that swimming, fishing and kayaking are not permitted.
