22-Year-Old Man Admits To Robbing Electronics Store, Fleeing To Westchester
A 22-year-old man has admitted to taking part in the robbery of a Hudson Valley electronics store before fleeing to Westchester with the proceeds, officials announced. Manhattan resident Aguibou Karambe pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Aug. 6 in Orange County Court to second-degree attempted robbery in connection with an incident in February 2023 that happened in the village of Monroe, Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced on Friday, Aug. 9. Electronics, Cash Stolen From Parked Cars In Hudson Valley Neighborhoods
Authorities are warning residents to lock their cars after electronics and cash were stolen from several vehicles in multiple Hudson Valley neighborhoods. The thefts were reported in Putnam County on Friday morning, June 14, when Carmel Police learned that unlocked vehicles had been entered in the South Lake and North Lake Boulevard neighborhoods in Mahopac. Shock, Fire Hazard Leads To Target Recall Of Charging Cables
Target is recalling tens of thousands of “Heyday” branded lightning cables that pose a shock and fire hazard to users. The retailer announced this week that it is recalling 90,000 three-foot Lightning USB charging cables that are used to charge cellphones and other electronics that use lightning connector charging cables. As of Friday, May 31, Target has received 14 reports of the cables smoking, sparking or igniting, including two reports of finger burns. Heyday was Target’s first-ever consumer electronics brand.
