Teen Swimmer Goes Missing In Hudson River
A massive search for an 18-year-old teen who was reportedly seen in the Hudson River yelling for help failed to find the man. The incident took place around 3:20 p.m., Monday, March 9, when the City of Poughkeepsie Police received multiple 911 calls about a male drowning in the river, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark. Police said on Monday the area of the search was behind the pavilion at the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum. Suicidal Man Holding Onto Walkway Over Hudson Railing Pulled To Safety
In a dramatic rescue, a distraught man who had climbed over the Walkway Over the Hudson and was dangling over the water clinging to a railing was pulled to safety by City of Poughkeepsie police, and a firefighter. The incident unfolded around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday when City 911 received a call reporting a suicidal male on the walkway, at approximately mid-span, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Lt. Matt Clark.
