Wrongful Death Suit By Gabby Petito's Mother Seeks Damages From Brian Laundrie's Estate
Gabby Petito's mother has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Brian Laundrie's estate, seeking more than $30,000 in damages, according to a new report from WFLA. Nichole Schmidt filed the lawsuit against Laundrie's parents for the expenses such as funeral costs and due to the loss of care and comfort that the family has experienced, the news station reported. WFLA said the lawsuit says Laundrie committed "intentional acts" that resulted in Petito's death. Laundrie, age 23, was found dead in a Florida nature reserve in October. Gabby Petito shared plans and ideas for her wedding online in the months prior to her disappearance and homicide. In a Pinterest album titled "Life Goals," the 22-year-old Long Island woman saved photos of wedding invitations, dresses and goodie bags for guests.
