Federal Oversight Ends For Yonkers Police Department After Major Reforms
A police department in Westchester has implemented enough major reforms to result in the conclusion of federal oversight after years of monitoring, officials announced. A suicidal Westchester man who was threatening to jump off an overpass of the Bronx River Parkway was saved by police. The incident took place around 7:40 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15, in Tuckahoe. Video: Man Armed With Rifle Kills Himself During Domestic Dispute In Area, Say Police
A 37-year-old armed with a rifle is fatally shot himself after a domestic dispute resulted in a standoff with responding officers. At about 10:43 p.m. on Friday, July 20, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to 208 Old Route 22 in the Town of Amenia for a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute involving a man in possession of a firearm.
